GrowQuest updates — April 16 – 22, 2026
Boss fights go turn-based, one phone can now cover the whole family, and the app speaks proper French.
A big week. Real combat for weekly bosses, a way to hand the phone back and forth without signing out, an annual plan, a full parent rulebook, and a long list of mobile and French-language polish.
✨ New
- Boss fights are now turn-based. When you approve your child's quest, they earn a turn to spend in the boss battle — pick between Strike, Power Strike, Fury Burst, or Focus, manage stamina, and watch the damage land. Premium parents get support actions to lend a hand mid-fight.
- "Act as [Child]" — one phone for the whole family. On every child card (dashboard, children list, child detail), a new amber button drops you straight into your child's view in one tap. A banner at the top takes you back to your own account. You can only act as your own children, and the switch auto-expires after an hour.
- Annual plan with 2 months free. Premium is now €3.99/month or €39.99/year. The pricing page defaults to annual with a clear "2 months free" badge and shows the monthly equivalent side by side.
- Onboarding "Focus profile" step. Tell GrowQuest what kind of family you are — Balanced, Intellect-first, Physical-first, Behavior-first, or Custom with per-category sliders. The rewards on tasks created from templates shift to match.
- Weekly family reports for Premium parents. A new Reports page under More shows the last 12 weeks of highlights, with a per-child breakdown.
- Parent Rulebook + public Guide. Two new explainer pages: a narrative
/guidefor visitors, and a full/parent/wikirulebook for signed-in parents with every formula, multiplier, and tier laid out. Both in English and French. - Help tooltips on key parent concepts. Small question marks next to trust level, daily state, streaks, boss HP, pending reviews, and premium locks — tap to get a plain-language explainer.
- Rewards now have a cadence. When you create a reward, pick whether it's one-time (e.g. trampoline park) or weekly (e.g. extra screen time). The child store shows a "Weekly" chip and blocks repeat buys in the same week.
🔧 Improved
- Child dashboard redesign. Quests are now the star of the page. New filter chips (To do / Pending / Completed / Try Again) with live counts, rejected quests can be retried inline, and a badge teaser moved into the hero banner.
- Bigger reward catalogue + rebalanced tasks. 50 reward templates across 4 price tiers (15g to 300g+), and 60 rebalanced task templates so small daily habits stay cheap and big weekly efforts pay more.
- Proper French everywhere. Every toast, notification, reward/badge status, recurrence label, date format ("19 avr. 2026" instead of "Apr 19, 2026"), behavior log, and auth page now speaks real French. Your children inherit your language by default, and switching your language updates emails and notifications too.
- Notifications page and bell popover redesigned. Both now match the rest of the app — chunky rounded cards, clean filters, amber unread pill.
- Mobile fixes. iOS Safari no longer zooms in (and crops your dashboard) when you tap a form field. The create-task and create-reward dialogs stop widening when you pick a category. The messages filter row scrolls cleanly instead of spilling over.
- Onboarding polish. Big preview of your child's chosen hero on the character picker, tidier Age / Gender spacing, clearer messaging when a free parent resumes a partial signup, and an honest "10 gold starter bonus" (was mislabelled as 50).
- Messages got a Reply button on incoming cards, and the child compose form no longer silently fails on a brand-new conversation.
- Child bottom nav trimmed. Dropped the duplicate Home tab; the five slots are now Quests / Growies / Shop / Boss / Hero so every key page is one tap away.
🌱 Under the hood
- Added an extra layer of protection around your family's data so only your own account can read or change it.
- Sign-up and password-reset emails now include a reply address, a copy-paste fallback link, and work reliably even when your mail app pre-opens the link.
